Deighton TTC win Kirklees Award

Deighton Table Tennis Club, Huddersfield were well represented in a number of categories at the recent Kirklees Community Sports Awards held at the John Smith Stadium in Huddersfield. Celebrity guests on the evening included Sir Patrick Stewart and England Rugby Union player Luther Burrell.

The club were shortlisted in five out of the ten categories including their head coach Paul Simpson for Sports Coach of the Year and Jerome Smith for Disability Sports Person of the Year. They were however winners of Most Improved Sports Club of the Year which is a great honour and testament to the fantastic work they do in the community with schools and especially with regard to disability projects. The club are always keen to expand their workforce and have recently put five candidates on a UKCC Level 1 course in Keighley and one candidate on a UKCC Level 2 course at Halton.
