Gemma Parry

Gemma Parry

The South West area are delighted to welcome Gemma Parry to the team – she will be joining us on February 15.

Gemma is based in Bristol and will be taking over Aled’s responsibilities of Bristol and Oxford priority zones as well as being the first point of call for CSP areas Somerset, Gloucestershire, Oxfordshire, and WESPORT. Her day-to-day duties will also include Loop sales and an area wide lead on coach education courses.

Here is a bit about Gemma in her own words:

“Having always had a strong passion in the power of sports engagement as well as a personal love of sport and fitness I followed a degree in sports development with 10 years in a range of educational sports development settings.

During this time I have worked in Further Education and Higher Education raising student participation levels in a range of sports as well as managing sports academy and coach education programmes. I have also delivered a number of pilot programmes for Sport England, Youth Sports Trust and Association of Colleges Sport and engaged in academic research to explore the impact of changing sports policy on the programmes delivered by sports development professionals. I have often presented pilot and research findings at conferences and I look forward to bringing this knowledge, passion and energy to Table Tennis England.

I am particularly looking forward to extending the fantastic work that Aled Howell has started with the Bristol and Oxford Priority Zones, and to offer more people more opportunities to access our fantastic game. Through targeted work in these areas I believe we can create even more partnerships to increase the number of exciting, high-quality opportunities for people to access the game, as well as sustain the high amount of participants who already play and enjoy the game.
